Rev David B. Roberts (please call him “Duffy“), is a native of New Mexico and can’t believe he has survived in Ohio for 24 years without a mountain or mesa anywhere in sight. He has served United Church of Christ churches in Massachusetts and Ohio. He and his church in Youngstown, sought out the Evangelical Covenant Church in 2008 and Duffy transferred his ordination into the Covenant in 2010.

He resides in Austintown, Ohio with Susan, his wife of 34 years, along with two small dogs and a nameless cat. He has two extremely intelligent adult children. Ian is pursuing his PhD in Social Psychology at The Ohio State University in Columbus. Hannah works in Maryland for the Department of Defense as a research mathematician.

Duffy offers a drama ministry to various churches and gatherings called “Paul in Chains”. He presents dramatic interpretations of the Apostle Paul’s letters to the Ephesians and Philippians. Due to previous commitments, this is why Duffy will not be at Bethany for two Sundays in October. You are invited to visit his website at www.paulinchains.com.

Duffy enjoys making lots of sawdust in his garage. His latest interest is wood turning and thus converting chunks of ordinary wood into bowls and other decorative items. He also loves occasionally cooking up green chili enchiladas
or other New Mexico delights and wishes he could find a restaurant around
here that can make and serve sopapillas the way they do in old town
Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
